Whether your organization is looking to install its first computer network or has decided to completely replace an obsolete or poorly functioning network, ESI can provide the services you need to bring the new network into production.

Design is the process of assembling the correct components – servers, workstations, printers, firewalls, printers, software, telephone circuits, routers, switches, etc. – to provide the optimal overall system for your specific requirements.

Networks are like neighborhoods. Nice neighborhoods are well planned and have strong zoning boards; ugly ones have traffic congestion, commercial and residential properties interspersed everywhere, and feel unorganized.

Without proper design, your network may feel like a run-down neighborhood – there will be no consistency in operations, performance will be erratic, reliability will be poor, security will be minimal. In short, the un-designed network will actually hinder productivity, not help it.

Properly designed networks, however, run like clockwork. Workstations operate consistently for all users, servers perform well and are highly secure, printers print. When something breaks, locating the problem is a logical process and fixing it is easy.

Installation of networks can be done well or poorly.

ESI installs networks the right way. We provide vendor oversight to ensure that the physical installation complies with building codes and meets or exceeds IEEE specifications. We follow labeling policies and prepare complete documentation with diagrams depicting important physical characteristics of our clients’ networks. Physical installation also involves "fit and finish" issues. An ESI network looks as good as it performs.

Network installation also involves software installation, which you can’t touch or see after the fact. ESI performs software installation pursuant to our own product-specific written guidelines, developed using vendor- and industry-based "best practices" and our own experience. Unless there is a specific reason to deviate, ESI installs software consistently within a client’s network and among client networks. This quality and consistency lead to fewer software-related problems and faster solutions when they do occur.

Support, according to dictionary.com, means: "To bear the weight of, especially from below." That’s what ESI does for its clients – we bear the weight of keeping the network running properly. If you don’t have the resources to provide helpdesk support to your end users, we’ll bear that weight for you. If you need help troubleshooting, we’ll do that. If you need support after hours, on weekends, or when your IT manager is on vacation, we’ll do that, too. Whatever is weighing you down, give to us!

We’ll do more than react to your support needs – we’ll provide proactive support, too. We’ll keep you apprised of issues to prevent problems down the road, and we’ll give you easy-to-follow written instructions for dealing with common problems.

What about the weight of information overload – all the technical issues hitting your desk that demand your time and attention? We’ll attend to the overload, and take care of addressing the issues that really matter to your network’s reliability, safety and performance.
